The goat rawhide is thin and therefore ideal for making smaller hand drums, lamp shades, and craft projects. The pieces are very clean and are not full of holes. The weight varies somewhat from skin to skin. Also, there is variation in the hides from light to dark, so that some of the natural hides may look bleached.

This rawhide coloring is a cream color with a marking on the lower area. The back side has a textured feel.

Goat rawhide is really thin and is better suited for making hand drums. Cow rawhide is thicker than goat rawhide and is more suitable for making drums that use drumsticks.

The goat rawhide comes rolled. Individual pieces are shipped in heavy, cardboard tubes.

Goats are not an endangered species. The skins are a by-product of the food industry. The goats are not killed just for their skins.
