We import mounted wild boar skins from Hungary. These are high quality, tanned skins with the ears, snout, hooves, tusks, and tail. They also have glass eyes and are mounted on a felt backing. They are ideal for decoration by the fire place or mounted on a wall.

Wild boar is not subject to CITES or USFWS controls. It is the wild ancestor of the domesticated pig. They are not endangered. The hides we get are a by-product of the food industry in Hungary. They are related to the warthog in Africa and the peccary in the southwestern United States.

The tanned skins that we offer are from Hungary. Wild boar are not endangered in Hungary. They are hunted for meat and are not killed just for their hides. Wild boar is delicious and tastes more like beef than pork. While I was in Budapest in April 2005, I had wild boar twice at the same restaurant--once with potatoes and once with rice. I highly recommend boar.
