This unique hand carved soapstone false face pipe was made by an Iroquoian artisan from Ontario, Canada. Soapstone has been used as a carving medium for centuries and Native American tribes have used it to make cooking utensils and traditional carvings.
These Native-made Iroquois peace pipes are carved from soapstone. These pipes are etched with a bear paw design. The pipes are approximately 1.25 to 2 inches long. You will get a pipe similar to the one shown, but not the exact item photographed. As these pipes are hand carved from natural soapstone, there will be variation in the size, color, and shape.
