These wooden skulls were carved by hand in Ecuador by indigenous artisans. The skulls are available in three sizes and they are lightly varnished. Please note that the nasal cavity may be carved deep or shallow, and that the appearance will differ as these are handmade items. A Large skull measures approximately 3.75" high from the base of the skull to the top, 2.75" wide, and weighs 128 grams. There are no export controls for this item. ...

This is a set of six carved wood coasters that were hand-carved in the townships of South Africa. The coasters are 3" in diameter and comes in a lovely hand-carved container. The elephant on the container has its trunk pointed downwards but has an upward pointing trunk on the coasters. The wood is a good coloring throughout.

This is an extremely rare mask that I believe was made by a Seneca man from Akwasasne. I purchased this mask at the Kahnawake reservation in Quebec from a reputable Mohawk dealer. There are very few of these jumbo masks made anymore. This one is hanging on my wall at home in Toronto, Ontario. The mask is not signed. In the picture, the mask appears to be somewhat crossed-eyed. This is a Cree tamarack goose flyer. The Cree hunters of James Bay originally used the life-sized tamarack birds as decoys during their annual spring and fall hunts. Made from the tamarack (larch) tree, the tamarack bird represents the Canada Goose. The hole in it's head symbolizes the white patch on the head of the Canadian Goose.
