This is a box of two Dentalium elephantinum, or elephant tusk, shells. These green shells fade to white at the tip and are nicely ridged and delicately curved. A USFWS export permit is required for all shipments outside the USA.
These real Dentalium longitrorsum shells are sold in packs of ten shells. These are low quality shells because they may be discolored, pitted, or have other flaws. These shells have a slight curve and circular openings at both ends. The shells are 1.5 to 2.5 inches long. We do not do further sorting by size or grade. These are low grade shells. You will not receive the exact shells from the photos but something similar.

This listing is for one bag of 100 Dentalium neohexagonum shells. The pieces are approximately 1" long. The shells have six sides, hence the name hexagonum. A USFWS export permit is required for all shipments outside the USA. This is not an endangered species and is not subject to CITES controls.
