Each lyme grass basket is handmade by an Inuit artisan. Sometimes a different artisan produces the soapstone sculpture atop the basket. Each basket is unique. There are no export controls for this item.

These are real birchbark canoes made by Native Americans in Ontario, Canada. Given that they are handmade they could be slightly bigger or smaller. They are trimmed with sweetgrass.For the ~3" canoe with hanger, it is 3" long, 1" wide and weighs 0.1 oz. (4 grams).

I purchased these awesome hand-made baskets at the Abenaki reservation in Odanak, Quebec in July 2005 from Marguerite Panadis, who is liquidating her store as a result of an illness that set in around 2000. The baskets are made using sweetgrass and ash splint weaved into beautiful patterns. Native Made.

We occasionally get a small number of very nicely made birchbark canoes from the Attikamek in Manouane, Quebec. Manouane is a Native community about 150 miles northeast of Montreal at the end of a long logging road. The canoes are made in the traditional style using birch bark and spruce roots. The men usually make the canoes and the women etch designs on the outside. These canoes are becoming more difficult to obtain with each passing year. There are no export controls for this item. ...

This tee-pee village was made by the Ojibwa in Ontario, Canada. It is made with birchbark and trimmed with porcupine quills. The villages average 10" long by 5" wide by 4" tall. One weighs about 64 grams.

These moose hide bags are made by the Huron on their reservation in Quebec, Canada. The large bags are approximately 8" wide. There is a short strap for closing and carrying the bag. Please note that moose suede leather is fuzzy on both sides and will "shed" particles during the early period of use. This Inuit soapstone carving has nice shades of color through the piece. The carving is smooth.
