Dentalium octagulatum is a white, ridged shell with eight sides, thus the term octagulatum. We sell them in one kilogram bags (2.2 pounds). The pieces are a mix of sizes with the majority of shells measuring approximately 0.75" to 1" long. Please note, there may be some broken shells that are going to be smaller, perhaps, as little as 0.25" or 0.50" as well as some shells that will be longer than 1". Each bag will vary to some degree. These are low-grade craft freshwater cultured pearls. The photos are representative of what to expect. They are not the exact pearls you will receive as they are natural products. The pearls come in assorted colors, mostly white, pink, and some purple. We do not do further sorting within this grade so you will receive an assortment. The pearls are sold in packs of 10. Real pearls are exempt from USFWS inspection and do not require a USFWS export permit.
