Leather Scrap

This is 3 to 3.5 ounce deerskin leather larger scrap pieces. It has a smooth side (skin side) and a rough side (suede side). As of September 2024, we only have black and white pieces. Deer are not endangered. A U.S. Fish & Wildlife export permit is required for all shipments outside the U.S.

Each 1/2 pound (8 oz.) bag contains smooth, full-grain, heavy (5 to 7 oz.) cow leather strips and pieces in a range of earth tones (e.g., beiges, creams, blacks, browns, tans). They vary in size and color as seen in the picture above. We cannot sort these by color or shape.

This is goat leather scrap in 3.0 ounce weight. Most of it is pearl bluish tint from leather that is not dyed. A small amount is available in tan. The craft pieces are larger pieces that have blemishes and scratches and are not suited for manufacturing expensive products.

This scrap latigo leather is 1/8" thick.

The musk ox leather scrap is black and dark brown and comes in a range of sizes. Musk ox are not endangered. There are about 100,000 roaming around northern Canada. The musk ox are protected by a quota. Each year, hunters are allowed to hunt about 600 animals, but only take about 400 per year. Many of the animals are eaten and the hide is a by-product of a subsistence life style.

We sell assorted premium leather scrap in 1/2 lb. (8 oz.) bags and by the pound. The 8 oz. bags contain lightweight (<4 oz. weight) suede scrap in assorted cow, goat, pig, or deer leathers. The scraps sold by the pound are nice lightweight leather. Colors range from earth tones to brighter colors. This scrap comes in different shapes, sizes, and colors. Unfortunately, we can not sort this product and cannot guarantee similar colors and shapes throughout an order.
