Our curled horse hair comes in only mixed natural colors. They are ideal for padding in mattresses, pillows, chairs, and upholstery filling because it is good for ventilation. They are sold by the pound.

Hair Material: 100% unprocessed horse hair
The horse hair has been scoured, washed, and sterilized.
After the horse hair is cut, it is washed with soap and water containing 2.5% sodium carbonate in a washing machine for 3 hours. It is left in a 5% solution of warm sodium carbonate for half an hour and then washed again for another hour. The hair is then boiled in water at 100ºC for over 2 hours. It is dried and combed before being bundled together, or left as is, in the case of loose horse hair.
3 or 4 pounds of the curled horse hair fits in a 1 cubic foot box (12” x 12” x 12”) depending on how tightly it is packed.
Horses are not an endangered species. The horses were not killed just for their hair.
Horses are not subject to CITES or USFWS controls.
