The skins we offer come from lambs that did not survive the harsh spring weather. These casualties of nature are processed in New Zealand to produce one of the world’s softest and lightest double-face leathers. These are natural creamy white Grade 2 Icelandic sheepskins. The lengths, given above, are measured on the wool side. The hair is a little matted compared to the Grade 1 sheepskins, e.g. your fingers may get caught when you run your hand through some parts of the hair. They are not a clean white color and may have some areas of discoloration. The hair length is approximately 4" to 6" with the shortest hair along the spine. The gray fox squirrel skins are approximately 13" to 15" long and do not have a tail. They are cased and are 2" to 3" wide in the middle. Each skin weighs approximately 1.5 ounces. Squirrels are not endangered. Please Note: Not for sale in California. A USFWS export permit is required for all shipments outside the USA.Tanned in USA.

This is a Greenlandic sheepskin. Notes on the hide:Approximately 7-8" hair length.Hair is more straight than curly.Hair is a bit matted underneath.Coloring is very creamy with brown tips at the top. Greenlandic sheepskins are not endangered. The skins we offer are a by-product of the food industry in Greenland. This animal was not killed just for the skin.
