These fur strips are made from real tanned rabbit fur. These strips were made in the USA using Spanish dyed black rabbit skins. They are about 1" wide measured on the skin side. This trim is useful in a multitude of fashion and craft projects including trim on gloves, socks, slippers, jacket collars, capes and much more. Please note that rabbit fur does shed a little bit.

These are #1 grade dyed rabbit plates are double-face plates give you two looks: the luxurious fur look on one hand, and the rugged leather look in another. The plates we have come with thicker skins on the fur side, while the Napa finish gives a very soft and smooth leather side. These style 1 plates are thin and pliable, more softer and as smooth as the style 2 - ideal for lining jewelry boxes, purses, shoes and garment making.

These rabbit skins are dyed in Spain using a mix of first and second grade (or what we call our Better grade) skins. For years we have called these craft grade skins because we originally bought a third grade skin. However, the tannery has only offered first and second grade dyed skins and we are dropping the "craft" name for these skins. The craft grade (#2) raccoon skins tend to have bad or no faces, missing noses and ears, and may or may not have a tail. They do not have feet attached. Measurements for size are from the nose to the base of the tail, not the tip of the tail. Each skin weighs approximately 4 oz. These skins are good for craft projects.
