Heavy and durable are the two words that best describe our topgrain elk leather. This leather is similar to moose leather - but at just a fraction of its price ;-). Similarly, they are grainy and suitable for making moccasins or gloves. On the full cow skins, there are variations in the thickness of the skin. The neck is very thick and the bellies are thinner. The cow rawhide was de-haired, cured, stretched, and dried. They come rolled up. The Full hides average 35-40 square feet. The Thick rawhides are 1.6-3.2 mm thick (4-7 oz.). However, the thickness does vary from disc to disc so if you need a particular thickness for your rawhide, please check with us beforehand.
